The DISCuS studio is a 90 minute multi-disciplinary consultative service intended for investigators seeking to integrate Dissemination and Implementation Science into a planned external grant proposal. Experts from a variety of disciplines, e.g. IRB, recruitment, etc. will be available to review the proposal and provide specific and targeted recommendations tailored to the investigators’ needs.
To schedule a DISCuS studio for a research study, the investigator should:
- Require input from both the Dissemination & Implementation Science Collaborative (DISC) team plus at least one other SCTR service.
- Have a specific external grant mechanism (K award and above) targeted with a planned submission date no sooner than 3 months away from the studio request.
- Have a draft specific aims page*
- Have specific questions to be addressed by the various services during the meeting
- Have completed the DISCuS REDCap intake survey accessible here: https://redcap.musc.edu/surveys/?s=4KCJNRLHYTECLTWE.
Studios will not be scheduled until the above criteria are met.
*If assistance is needed in developing the study’s implementation science aim(s) it is advised that the study team submit a SPARC Request for a DISC consultation prior to a DISCuS meeting.
